Overnight, Nigerians and people all over the world, who probably did not hear the news until this morning, woke up to a shocking report of former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, getting shot in the ear at his own rally in Pennsylvania.
Even though Donald Trump escaped an assassination attempt on his life, a report by CNN said a gunman and at least one audience member were killed, while two other attendees were critically injured.
Amid that development, reactions have been coming from all angles of the world and joining others to condemn what happened. Nigeria's president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a tweet on X, said the attack on the former president Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms as violence has no place in democracy.
Tinubu went on to extend his sympathizes to the former president and wish him relief as well as condolence with the family of the deceased, those wounded and wished them a quick recovery.
Tinubu then finished by saying Nigerian stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time.
