According to a report from The Sun News, Prince Eze Madumere, a former deputy governor known for his contentious tenure under Governor Anayo Rochas Okorocha, has weighed in on the ongoing political turmoil in Kano. Madumere, whose political career has been marked by legal battles and disputes over unpaid allowances, offers a unique perspective on the leadership struggles in Kano.

Madumere attributes the crisis in Kano to a power struggle within the state's political elite. He states that the situation in Kano is primarily about a political struggle for leadership, with Alhaji Ganduje, the national chairman of their party, fighting to preserve his legacy.

He points out that the turmoil is exacerbated by issues within the Kano Emirates, noting that the party chairman was the architect of the emirate crisis, which has now escalated significantly.

Madumere criticizes the handling of the emirate crisis, suggesting it was a significant misstep. He believes that the actions taken against the Kano Emirates were seen by many as an avoidable blunder that has now degenerated into a mistake likely to linger for generations.

Drawing a parallel to popular culture, he describes the situation as reminiscent of the dramatic conflicts in "Game of Thrones."

He underscores the complexity of the situation, noting the involvement of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who, along with other stakeholders, felt wounded by their experiences under Ganduje.

Offering advice to his party chairman, Madumere emphasizes the importance of prioritizing the people and making necessary concessions. He suggests that the chairman should recognize when to stop and when to make concessions to benefit the public.

He acknowledges Kwankwaso's influence, stating that Kwankwaso is very popular and loved in Kano and not easily swayed when the people support him.

Madumere warns of the dangers of escalating conflicts and the need for strategic caution. He emphasizes that power is transitory and cannot be held forever, advising that opening fights on all fronts is dangerous and that actions must be taken with the future in mind.

He highlights Kano's unique political culture, warning that the people of Kano can be fiercely committed to their beliefs, and the state must not be reduced to a theater of bloodshed.

He also hints at underlying preparations for the 2027 presidential elections, cautioning against premature conflicts. He stresses the importance of giving peace a chance and allowing the democratic process to unfold.

Madumere's insights call for a measured and people-focused approach to resolving the political crisis in Kano, emphasizing the importance of peace and strategic foresight in navigating the state's complex political landscape.
