With the nation’s confidence in President William Ruto waning and the president himself under intense scrutiny for not delivering on his promises, Kipembe has drawn attention to the conspicuous silence of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Kipembe cautions that Gachagua's silence should not be misconstrued as a sign of innocence or benevolence. Instead, he suggests that the deputy president's quiet demeanor is a strategic move designed to deflect blame from himself and focus the public's ire solely on President Ruto. By remaining in the background, Gachagua aims to present himself as the more favorable figure, thus gaining the trust of Kenyans.
However, Kipembe argues that this tactic is a mere façade. He insists that Gachagua is equally culpable and should not be seen as a savior in the current political turmoil. According to him, both the president and the deputy president are responsible for the country's predicaments and should face the consequences together in the next election.
