Insecurity Worse Under Buhari Than Tinubu – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former Senator, has claimed that the security challenges facing northern Nigeria was worse under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Sani stated this while speaking at the 40th anniversary and Reunion of ’84’ set of Kagara Old Boys Association, an association of old students of Government Science College, Kagara, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

The event held at Ahmadu Bahago Secondary school, Minna.

Sani, who said the meeting was to allow the old boys share memories and brainstorm on how to see to reopening of the school, said security challenges would be completely addressed if government shows the desired commitment.

Six killed, Several Injured In Borno Suicide Attack

At least six persons were killed and many others injured in a bomb attack at a wedding venue in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza town, Borno State.

According to a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the bomber, who was later identified as a young lady in her early twenties, detonated her explosive device in the middle of the gathering, causing chaos and destruction.

Intelligence sources told Makama that the victims, who were all civilians, were returning from a wedding celebration when the attack occurred near a busy motorpark.

It was learned that emergency services were rushed to the scene to rescue those injured and transport them to the hospitals in Gwoza.

One of the sources said medical personnel in the hospital said at least six people were killed while 15 others were injured in the attack.

The member representing Zaria constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mahmud Lawal, has described ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s decision to pursue legal action over allegations that he misappropriated N432 billion as “laughable”.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, Lawal expressed disappointment at what he described as El-Rufai’s sudden interest in the judiciary after neglecting it for so long.

He stated that El-Rufai seems to have conveniently forgotten the principle of separation of powers enshrined in the constitution, which mandates non-interference between the executive, legislature, and judiciary.

Hajj: Jigawa pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

A female pilgrim from Jigawa State, Hajiya Rabi Mohammed Mohammed, has died in Saudi Arabia.

Zonal Officer Malam Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Tahir, confirmed this to newsmen in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

He said the deceased passed away at the King Abdulaziz Hospital in Makkah on Friday night after a brief illness.

According to him, the deceased was from Malam Madori LGA.

The zonal officer, Tahir, said the family of the late pilgrim had been informed.

Director General of the State Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, commiserated with the family of the deceased.
