During an interview with AIT, Precious Elekima, a former Rivers gubernatorial candidate, addressed Wike, the Minister of FCT, regarding his involvement in Rivers state politics post-tenure. Elekima thanked Wike but advised him to recognise when to step back. He referenced past conflicts involving Wike and prominent figures such as Mrs. Jonathan and Mr. Jonathan, suggesting that their support and sacrifices had significant political implications.

Additionally, Precious Elekima cautioned Wike against exacerbating tensions within the state and potentially strengthening opposing political forces.

According to him, "My own is to thank Wike and to advise him to say okay and know when to stop. You dished, Mrs. Jonathan; she didn't call for your head. You dished, Mr. Jonathan; he paid the sacrifice for you. It was because of Wike. APC came strong because of the trouble between Wike and Amaechi, and when the former first lady showed that overwhelming support, then the five governors joined Amaechi, and that is what brought APC."
