Rivers Crisis: No Court Of Law In Nigeria Can Make You Member Of Political Party, APC - Cletus Obun

opera.com 1 day ago

In an Arise TV interview, prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman Cletus Obun voiced his severe displeasure with the recent events in Rivers State.

Obun, an APC foundation member, bitterly disagreed with the idea that 27 people who publicly declared their party affiliation should be regarded as actual party members.

He emphasized that nobody may be declared a member of any political party, including the APC, by a Nigerian court of law. Obun seems to have a strong sense of allegiance to the party and a dedication to following its ideals, based on his remarks.

In light of the current situation, he also expressed astonishment that the National Assembly had not assumed control of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

In his words, "What is happening in Rivers State would have, by now, I expect the national assembly would have taken over the House of Assembly in Rivers State."

"First of all, the 27 people who came and made proclamations on television and at press conferences saying that they're members of the APC I'm a foundation member of APC; joining APC cannot even be declared by a court."

"No court of law in Nigeria can make you a member of a political party, especially the APC that I know of."
