Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba has said that member of the National Assembly made the biggest parliamentary blunder after finance bill 2024 by passing of Privatization act 2023.
"The biggest parliamentary blunder after finance bill 2024 is the passing of Privatization act 2023.
This act gave the Executive express highway to loot money meant for Kenyans .Let’s ask these questions. And by the way the Act barred Kenyans from asking some of these questions.
1. How many parastatals are privatized so far from the list initially shared ?
2. How much was made from each ?
3. Where is the money they sold ?
4 . Who bought the assets ?
5. For how long are they privatised?
6. Are they performing better now after privatization?
7. Was there public participation done ?
Parliament passed this act and eroded its power to seek for such answers . This Act should be repealed.
When parliament go to bed with Executive the country looses the mattress". Said Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba.
