Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader representing Benue South, has dismissed rumors alleging that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators received $2 million from Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, to support Damagum. These rumors emerged shortly after the PDP's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

In an interview with Daily Independent, Senator Moro clarified that he spoke with colleagues who denied receiving any funds from Wike as claimed. He emphasized that no PDP senator has been funded to instigate a crisis within the party.


Moro highlighted the prevalence of fake news and questioned the credibility of reports suggesting internal strife within the party due to financial incentives. He stressed the importance of party stability for Nigeria's overall political landscape, emphasizing the need to resolve internal disputes constructively.
