Obi's Campaign Director, Others Dump LP

The Campaign Director of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi in Bauchi State, Alhaji Alhassan Bawu, has dumped the party for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Bawu, who defected to the PDP with other officials of the party in the Northeast, blamed the lack of LP structure at the State, local and ward levels for the decision.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has assured members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state and across the country that the party remains strong, viable and united.
A statement by Chief Press Secretary Onyebuchi Ememanka said the governor gave the assurance at a meeting with PDP national leaders at Government House, Umuahia.
Ekweremadu On Trial In Britain For Alleged Organ Harvesting

Former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, is due to go on trial in Britain on Tuesday along with family members for alleged organ harvesting.
Ekweremadu, 60, will face trial at the Old Bailey court on Tuesday morning, accused along with his wife, daughter, and a doctor of bringing a 21-year-old man from Nigeria to have his kidney removed.
Explosion Rocks Bauchi, Destroys Schools

Explosion suspected to be from dynamites has rocked Azare town, headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, destroying a house, mosque and school in the community.
Aminu Alhassan, the state Commissioner of Police, revealed this on Monday at the Palace of the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Faruk II, and the palace of Galadiman Katagum, Alhaji Usman Mahmood Abdullahi, when he accompanied Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, to commiserate with the victims.
