Tragedy struck on Monday evening when three persons from the Agagbe Internally Displaced Persons camp were killed by suspected armed herders while returning from their farms. The victims, identified as Mr. Ameeya Solomon, 38, Mr. Adagu Terwase, 40, and Master Orkaha Terkende, 16, were ambushed close to NKST Church at Tse Nyamti in Benue State.

According to Punch Newspaper, Terna Jacob, the former manager of the camp, "The deceased were killed as they ran for safety after being ambushed. One of the survivors, Orkaha Terfa, the elder brother of the 16-year-old boy killed, said they were attacked by suspected herders."

Jacob lamented that the victims were forced to flee their homes due to attacks by armed Fulani herders and had taken to farming to feed their families in the camps. "Their homes were already burnt down by armed Fulani herders," he added.

The police have not confirmed the incident, with the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, stating that she had not received any report of the incident. The attack has left the community in shock and fear, with many calling for increased security measures to protect them from further attacks.
