Arsenal land HUGE bonus windfall as Chelsea confirm €26m transfer

Chelsea have confirmed their third major summer sale, with the news that Omari Hutchinson will leave the club to join Ipswich Town.

The young winger was on loan at the Championship side last season and helped Ipswich charge through the second tier to secure a shock place in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season.

Chelsea will recoup as much as €26 million for the 20-year-old, who has also won two international caps for Jamaica.

Hutchinson has signed a five-year contract with Ipswich, which will see him remain with the club until 2029.

On the club’s official website, the Blues stated: “Omari Hutchinson has left Chelsea and completed a permanent transfer to Ipswich Town.

We wish Omari well as he begins a new chapter in his career and thank him for all his efforts while with the Blues.

The Gunners could scoop as much as €5.2m from the deal, with Mikel Arteta’s club having a sell-on clause on the player worth between 15 and 20%. He had been in Arsenal’s academy setup from 2015 until 2022.

Hutchinson has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €6.7m, but this has risen sharply since the beginning of the year. Back in January, the versatile attacker was worth just €2.6m, and Ipswich will expect this figure to jump once more as he gains significant Premier League experience.

According to data analytics firm SciSports, he was one of the leading wingers in the Championship last season, excelling particularly in his dribbling, crossing and defensive positioning.
