Manchester United resumed their campaign in the English Premier League today when they hosted Burnley at the Old Trafford Stadium. After their convincing 4-2 win over Sheffield United in midweek, the Red Devils looked quite motivated heading into this encounter as they had the sole aim of defeating Burnley in order to secure all three important points.

Manchester United were on the ascendency in the early minutes of the first half as they created some clear-cut goalscoring chances to take the lead. Burnley stepped up their performance in the final minutes of the match as they forced some great saves from Andre Onana who prevented Manchester United from being behind at halftime.

After several attempts on goal, Manchester United finally got the breakthrough in the 79th minute of the game as Antony Santos opened the scoring with a brilliant finish to make the scoreline 1-0.

Burnley were awarded a penalty in the 87th minute of the game after Andre Onana carelessly fouled Zeki Amdouni in the 18-yard box. Zeki Amdouni stood up and converted the penalty brilliantly to make the scoreline 1-1 in neither team's favour at full-time.

Meanwhile, Liverpool dropped even more points in their race for the Premier League title when they took on West Ham United at the London Stadium. The Anfield Giants couldn't hold on to their slim advantage in the match as they settled for a disappointing 2-2 draw against the Hammers. Goals from Andrew Robertson, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, and Alphonse Aréola (Own Goal) made sure both teams secured at least a point from this game.
