Premier League club Arsenal have once again been linked with French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from Monaco.

Under the stewardship of legendary player turned manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal has shown marked improvement, transitioning from struggling to secure a European spot to becoming contenders within the Premier League landscape.

Last summer witnessed significant progress as the club briefly held the top spot in the league before being surpassed by Manchester City.

In the current season, Arsenal continues to demonstrate their title ambitions by maintaining a strong position at the top of the league, leading by one point over fellow contenders Manchester City.

Reports suggest that Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering his midfield depth, with players like Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz previously under consideration. However, recent attention has shifted towards Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

The 25-year-old, who debuted for Monaco in February 2020 following his departure from Strasbourg, has since become a regular starter for the club, garnering attention with his performances.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has indicated uncertainty surrounding the potential transfer, stating, "I can guarantee that there’s a lot of interest for Fontana, but nothing concrete at this point with Arsenal or any other club. Fofana will decide his future in the summer, not now. So, nothing concrete is happening at the moment."

Fofana's transfer value is estimated to be between £40–50 million. Noteworthy statistics from this season include three goals scored, four assists, and an 81% pass completion rate.

Additionally, Xavi Simon and Carlos Baleba from Paris Saint-Germain are also being considered as potential midfield additions by the Premier League giants.
