Obi: He will be better off engaging PDP, jumping from party to party will diminish his gains–Okorie

According to the report from the Punch, the Founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the pioneer chairman of the party, Chief Chekwas Okorie has suggested that Peter Obi, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, would be better served by engaging with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) rather than moving between parties.

Emphasizing the importance of continuity, he argued that Obi should focus on maintaining and strengthening the Labour Party (LP), as party-hopping could erode his accomplishments.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, he envisioned a scenario where a more collaborative political landscape may emerge, potentially breaking away from the traditional winner-takes-all approach.

He said, "Honestly, this question may warrant charging a consultancy fee. But I can give it to you for free. I think Obi will be better off engaging the PDP. But they should be more interested in getting LP to come together so that they can continue with that. This is because at this level, jumping from party to party will diminish a lot of his gains. If he can retain the Labour Party, I can see the 2027 election coming out in a manner that will no longer be a winner-takes-all."
