The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State command, has implemented the deployment of personnel across the state to safeguard critical national and state assets, as part of its endeavors to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

The Anambra State Commandant of NSCDC, Maku Olatunde, made this declaration in Awka on Monday while overseeing the positioning of personnel for its revitalized operational activities to promote economic and commercial endeavors and counteract the impact of Monday's sit-at-home directive.

Olatunde characterized this as a proactive measure aimed at securing banks, financial institutions, parks, schools, government offices, and other potentially vulnerable points, with the goal of upholding public trust and swiftly responding to security breaches.

The objective of this exercise is to enhance economic productivity and ensure the safety of lawful residents of the state by deterring individuals engaged in criminal activities, vandalism, hooliganism, and other disruptive behavior, particularly on Mondays.

"We underscored the importance of all personnel involved in the operation to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when upholding civil order, while adhering to established rules of engagement and standard operating procedures.

"This deployment is aimed at safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure in Anambra State, including banks, markets, parks, recreational centers, schools, government offices, and other strategic locations. It is imperative that you remain vigilant in carrying out your responsibilities, and conduct yourselves with professionalism, respect, and attentiveness to the needs of the public.

The command urges law-abiding residents of the state to carry out their lawful activities without fear or intimidation. It is emphasized that the command is working in collaboration with other security agencies and has implemented security measures to prevent any potential threat of attack by insurgent groups.

In accordance with details obtained from Punch, Maku cautioned individuals planning to disrupt the prevailing peace in the region to reconsider, as anyone engaging in such activities will be held accountable for their actions.
