Kaduna APC chieftain urges North to support Tinubu

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State, Dr. Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, on Monday, urged northerners to support President Bola Tinubu in his efforts to move the nation forward in terms of development.

Kwankwaso, a three-time Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State, noted that supporting the President became imperative in view of his support for former President Muhammad Buhari during his eight-year tenure.

He also condemned the recent protest against the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, describing it as negative antics targeted at Tinubu, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and other leading politicians of the ruling party.

Kwankwaso, who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, also cautioned those using social media to rain insults on the Presidents and other leading officials of the party, to desist forthwith.

FEC Mourns Ex-Minister Gbagi

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) expressed condolences on the passing of former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, who died at the age of 62. The FEC's message, conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, described Gbagi as a statesman of high moral standing, noting his contributions to education development in Nigeria, particularly the Almajiri Education Programme. Gbagi was praised for his political, criminological, and industrial achievements, with the SGF highlighting his integrity and exemplary leadership at the Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA). The FEC extended sympathies to Delta State, Gbagi's family, and prayed for his soul's repose.

Bandits abduct Bank Manager, wreak havoc in parts of Zamfara

A gang of bandits in the early hours of Tuesday, invaded Gusau, the Zamfara State capital and kidnapped the manager of Taj Bank, Gusau branch, Mallam Mansur Kaura at his residence.

It was gathered that the bandits stormed the banker’s residence at about 12:30 am and kidnapped him.

It was gathered that the terrorists came with sophisticated weapons and shot sporadically to scare residents before proceeding to the residence of the manager to abduct him.

It also gathered that the bandits also terrorised some areas like Mareri, Damba, Tsauni and Samaru within the state capital before their escape. No official statement has been released by the security authorities over the latest bandits’ attack.

Girl, 34, drinks Sniper, dies in Delta

A 34-year-old girl simply identified as Blessing has reported drank substances suspected to be Sniper, highly potent insecticides; thereby killing herself in Warri, Delta State.

Details as to why she killed herself were still sketchy at the time of this report. A friend of the deceased, simply identified as Ejiro, said she killed herself out of depression.

According to her: “She bought Sniper and drank it without anyone knowing. Before she drank it, she wrote a letter near her dead body, and she said in the letter that she was depressed. No help from family members and friends.”
