Manchester United has decided to retain Erik ten Hag as their manager despite finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, according to CaughtOffside.

The Dutch coach brought success to the club by winning the FA Cup against Manchester City, adding to his previous Carabao Cup triumph.

The club believes in ten Hag's vision and approach, which has led to significant developments in their transfer plans.

According to Corriere di Bologna, Manchester United has reached personal terms with Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee, a promising striker who has attracted interest from Arsenal and AC Milan.

This move aims to bolster their attacking options following Anthony Martial's departure.

Zirkzee, whose contract includes a €40m release clause, was hesitant to join Manchester United due to concerns about his playing time.

However, ten Hag personally assured him of his importance in the team's future, convincing him to make the move.

This signing would be the first under the club's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is committed to supporting ten Hag in strengthening the squad.

Manchester United's transfer plans reveals their intention to address weaknesses from the previous season, where they scored 57 goals and conceded 58, resulting in a negative goal difference.

Strengthening both their attack and defense is a priority for the club this summer.
