Pregnant woman abducted on her way to the hospital in Ogun State found in Kwara State

A pregnant woman who was due for delivery and was abducted at an area in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while on her way to the hospital has been found in Kwara State, it was gathered on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, who disclosed this on her X handle while giving an update on the incident, said the lady, Raheemat Lateef, was found at a location in Kwara State.

It will be recalled that the woman's husband, whose name was given as Lateef Ogunbunmi of Oke Lantoro, Abeokuta, the state capital, reported at the police station that his pregnant wife, who was due for delivery, left home for the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

He was quoted by the Police PRO as saying that a few hours after she left for the hospital, he received a WhatsApp message which indicated that the heavily-pregnant woman had been abducted by unknown armed men.

But while giving an update early on Sunday, Odutola said though details remained sketchy about the circumstances of her disappearance, she was however found at a location in Kwara State.

Regarding her pregnancy, the Police PRO disclosed that the command will give more facts later.

She wrote: "UPDATE ON SUSPECTED ABDUCTION: 23rd June,2024. Details remain sketchy about the circumstances of the disappearance of one Rahemat Lateef, who left Abeokuta for delivery and was found in Kwara State. In picture is her father. The pregnancy? More facts later."
