Tinubu will treat executive, legislature, judiciary equally – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday said President Bola Tinubu will treat the executive, legislature and judiciary equally.

Wike also said Tinubu is repositioning the judiciary to strengthen the administration of justice in Nigeria.

He spoke during the inauguration of the construction of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal Complex.

Osun: Gov Adeleke suspends aide

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has directed the immediate suspension of his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Emmanuel Adebisi.

A statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, obtained by DAILY POST on Wednesday, added that the suspension is pending the outcome of investigations by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.

Adeleke also warned transport workers in Osun State against actions and activities capable of plunging the state into violence and lawlessness.

South-East Governors to meet Tinubu over Nnamdi Kanu, other issues

The South-East Governors has resolved to interface with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the release of the detained Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and other issues affecting the region.

These are contained in a communique issued and signed by the South-East Governors Forum at the end of its meeting in the Government House, Enugu.

The governors are Alex Otti of Abia, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra and Francis Nwifuru of it Ebonyi States while Enugu State Gov. Peter Mbah is the host.

FG exempts SMEs, farmers, manufacturers from withholding tax

The Federal Government has approved the exemption of small businesses, manufacturers and farmers from paying withholding tax as a way of reducing the tax burden on businesses.

It also introduced key changes to the previous tax regime, such as reduction of rates for businesses with low margins and measures to curb evasion.

Withholding tax is a method of collecting income tax in advance, deducted at rates ranging from five per cent to 10 per cent, based on the transaction.
