Nnamdi Kanu has not done anything that other people from other zones have not done- Kenneth Okonkwo

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), remains a central figure in the movement for Biafran independence from Nigeria. Recently, Kenneth Okonkwo, a well-known actor and politician, emphasized that Kanu has not engaged in actions different from those undertaken by individuals from other regions. This statement underscores the disparities in how various agitators are treated within Nigeria.

The case of Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation agitator, illustrates this inconsistency. Despite his advocacy for Yoruba independence and conflicts with the Nigerian government, Igboho was eventually released. Similarly, Boko Haram members, who have openly rejected Western education and sought to establish a separate state, have not only been released but also reintegrated into society with employment, financial support, and rehabilitation opportunities.

Kenneth Okonkwo pointed out that Nnamdi Kanu's actions are not unique compared to those of other regional agitators. He highlighted the apparent ethnic and political biases in handling Kanu's case. While other agitators have been released and supported, Kanu remains incarcerated, raising questions about fairness and justice.

Okonkwo noted that individuals like Sunday Igboho and Boko Haram members have been reintegrated into society, given jobs, money, and opportunities for reconciliation and rehabilitation. He questioned why Kanu's case is treated differently, attributing it to ethnic and unnecessary biases. Okonkwo urged the government to be wise and release Kanu.

During an interview on Arise Television, He remarked, "Nnamdi Kanu has not done anything that other people from other zones have not done.”

"We know about Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation agitator. We know of the Boko Haram people who say they want a different country where Western education is an abomination. These people have been released. Not just that they have been released, in the case of Boko Haram, they've been reassimilated into society, given plum jobs."( Photo credit : Channels Television Verified Facebook Page )
