According to the report from the Punch,

Chief Edwin Clark, a respected elder statesman and National Leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, has shed light on the close relationship between Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his former accountant general, Siminalayi Fubara.

According to Clark, Wike and Fubara shared a bond akin to that of a father and son, with Wike entrusting Fubara with overseeing the state's finances due to their deep trust.

Clark revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had previously attempted to arrest Wike but was unable to do so due to his immunity.

Instead, the EFCC targeted Fubara and others close to Wike, but the governor intervened and protected them, leading to an ongoing legal case.

Clark emphasized the strength of the Wike-Fubara relationship, highlighting Wike's protective role and underscoring the significance of their bond.

By describing their relationship as "like father and son," Clark underscored the level of trust and loyalty that exists between the two individuals.
