Nigeria condoles Turkey over earthquake

According to Vanguard, The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, expressed heartfelt condolences to the Government of Turkey following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Monday.

During a condolence visit to the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, H. E. Hidayet Bayraktar, on behalf of the federal government, Umar Farouq conveyed sympathy and prayers for strength during this challenging period.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake in your country. On behalf of the Federal government, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you during this difficult time. It's a natural disaster, unforeseen and tragic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, especially those who lost their loved ones. This is truly a sorrowful and devastating event."

Umar Farouq further relayed President Muhammadu Buhari's condolences and prayers for the peaceful repose of those who lost their lives in the disaster.

In response, Ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar expressed gratitude to the government of Nigeria and the Minister for their condolences, emphasizing the importance of continued peaceful collaboration between the two countries.
