Police have opened a case of murder and robbery following the fatal stabbing of Moegamat Armien Hartsenberg (19) from Bonteheuwel.
According to reports, Hartsenberg was on his way to purchase a birthday gift for his girlfriend and while walking along Camellia Street, he was attacked and robbed by a suspect who than proceeded to stab him several times on the upper body before fleeing the scene towards an unknown direction.
Community members called police as well as emergency medical services for assistance and upon their arrival, Hartsenberg was assessed and declared dead at the scene. A case of murder and robbery was registered at the police station.
