"Madam You fired Maimane and replaced him with less educated Steenhuisen" Dali Mpofu tells Zille

The two heavy weights in the South African politics have taken to X platform (formerly Twitter) to fight political battles. The hatred and spitting of strong language between Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal leader Hellen Zille, and Economic Freedom Fighters member advocate Dali Mpofu shocked South Africans and the social media users, after Mpofu called Helen Zille a 'racist'.

It all started when Mpofu was teasing South African president Cyril Ramaphosa, using former United Kingdom Prime Minister who lost the elections. Mpofu posted saying "This is actually how its done in real democracies when an incumbent leader loses the majority he inherited from his predecessors….RESIGN,APOLOGISE & GO AWAY! That’s what the people and even 'the markets' normally expect…Not a more bloated Cabinet!!"

Mpofu was referring to Ramaphosa 's cabinet in the GNU government, that many have criticised as bloated. In responding to Dali Mpofu 's post Hellen Zille simply said "Perhaps your leader should also resign then?" Zille was referring to EFF leader and commander in chief Julius Malema, saying perhaps he must rresign.

In responding Mpofu took Hellen Zille back to the days when he fired Mmusi Maimane, saying he was underperfoming. The advocate said "Why would he resign?Which country majority did he lose? You Madam fired Mmusi Maimane for getting 3,6 million votes for the DA…But when the LESS educated John Steenhuisen got 3,5 million which is LESS than Mmusi you wanted him to be made Deputy President! We see you…Racist!!"

South Africans where not pleased with how the two leaders conducted themselves, particularly on a social media platform. One of the user came to the defence of Helen Zille and said to Dali Mpofu "Your theatrics and aspirations to lead either the @EFFSouthAfrica or @MkhontoweSizwex astound me. As a learned scholar of law, you should know better than to make wild accusations, such as labeling @helenzille a racist. While you were enjoying a privileged student life, Helen Zille risked her life fighting against the apartheid regime, championing democracy, equality, and non-racism. She bravely exposed the murder of Steve Biko and published it despite the immense danger to herself and her loved ones."

He reminded Dali Mpofu that he must thank people like Hellen Zille, he said "Without Helen Zille's contributions, you might not enjoy the freedoms of our current democracy. I urge you to conduct thorough research before making unsubstantiated statements for social media clout. Your tendency to flip-flop across the legal and political landscapes for attention is evident. We do not need your divisive and hateful comments."
