GRV Replies Wahab Who Told Him He Would Be Fine Over His Complaints Of A Canal Overgrown With Weeds

After the rain in Lagos days ago, numerous videos surfaced online showing the bad state of some places in Lagos and that led to some back and forth between the Honorable Commissioner of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

GRV, in a video, pointed out a canal in Lekki overgrown with weeds that disrupts the free flow of water and went on to say it is far easier to clear canals than it is to demolish houses.

Tokunbo Wahab, after seeing that tweet from GRV, told him eventually, he would be fine.

One would think GRV would ignore Tokunbo Wahab, but that isn't the case as during an interview with Arise TV this morning, GRV, in his words, said

"I'm not surprised by his comment. These people are not in office out of a desire to serve but to obtain material wealth for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, they have to deal with a new set of politicians that has not been compromised, holding them accountable which they do not like."

"When a commissioner says he will eventually be fine, I am fine, but Lagos is not fine and this mentality that one would be okay is an afterthought. I will say to the commissioner, I am not going anywhere. He says the water left the ground after three hours, how does that make up for those whose cars were destroyed, where were those towing vehicles they use in carrying people's cars".
