Kenyans from different walks of life took to the streets in the recent weeks to protest against the government's plans to increase taxes through the 2024 finance bill. President William Samoei Ruto bowed to pressure and withdrew the entire bill after protests turned chaotic.

However, more questions were raised after security agencies began abducting people who were believed to be taking part in the anti-government protests. Many people were abducted and later released after Kenyans piled pressure on the security agencies to release them.

On the other hand, two families are now crying for justice after their lobed ones were found murdered after days of going missing. The two individuals were found murdered with bullets on their bodies in Mombasa county. Denis Otieno was found after being shot three times in Mombasa he was missing for the last 25 days.

On the other hand, the family of Joash Ombati are also crying for justice after loved one was found dead. Joash is reported to have gone to work, but he never returned home. He was shot dead during the anti-government protests.

This comes after some of the victims who lost their lives during the anti-government protests were laid to rest in different parts of the country on this weekend. Rex Maaasai, who was the first person to be killed during the anti finance bill protests, was laid to rest on Friday in his home in Machakos county.

President William Samoei Ruto while addressing the media, said that any police officers who went against the law will be dealt with by the government. He instructed the IPOA to investigate all cases of police brutality.
