Outrage Erupts as Raila Demands Prosecution of Two Top Officials Over Bodies Found in Kware

Leader of the Azimio Coalition Raila Odinga wants former Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, former Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome, and Nairobi regional police boss Adamson Bungei to be arrested and charged with crimes.

This is what Odinga wants after protesters were brutally killed during the recent anti-government rallies and bodies were found dumped in the Kware dumpsite in Nairobi.

At the funeral for Wycliffe Oparanya's brother in Kakamega county, Odinga did not hold back when he spoke out against the claimed crimes.

"We are demanding the arrest and prosecution of Kindiki, Koome, and Bungei for overseeing the killings of Gen-Z protestors and dumping them in a thicket to conceal evidence. That is a heinous act and cannot go unpunished," said Raila.

Several other political leaders agreed with Odinga that the reported killings and the efforts to hide them were unbelievably bad. Julius Mawathe, an MP from Embakasi South, said that unnamed government agencies killed innocent Kenyans and dumped their bodies at the Kware dumpsite.

Mark Mwenje, an MP from Embakasi West, said that Bungei should step down and be charged with Koome. Fernandes Barasa, the governor of Kakamega, also spoke out against the "brutality on our young people" and asked security forces to speed up the investigation into the bodies found at the Kware dumpsite.

Barrasa also said that the cops were wrong for using too much force against the protesters, saying that they had the right to be there and shouldn't have been killed. Nine badly mutilated bodies in different stages of decomposition were found in the Kware dumpsite on July 12 and 13.

This has caused anger and calls for accountability. People see Odinga's call for Kindiki, Koome, and Bungei to be charged as a major worsening of the ongoing political tensions and a demand for justice for the people who were allegedly killed.
