"Cabinet Would Be Smaller Had ANC Went For Coalition" EFF's Ndlozi Hits Out

Economic Freedom Fighters member of parliament, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has hit out that if president Cyril Ramaphosa had opted to form a coalition government, the cabinet could have been smaller.

His utterances come as South Africans are complaining about the bloated cabinet that has been established under a government of national unity by president Cyril Ramaphosa. The EFF heavyweight argues that if the African National Congress had not proceeded with government of national unity, and only formed a coalition government, this would have reduced the cabinet.

A smaller cabinet means that taxpayer's money will not be wasted covering expenses of ministers and their deputies. As it stands, South Africa has thirty two ministers and forty three deputies. This has been slammed as unnecessarily high for a country that is battling high unemployment and poverty.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi stated that a government of national unity led to a bigger cabinet as each party in the GNU wanted their own share of the cake which seemed free for all.

"Cabinet would be smaller had ANC went for coalition, grand or minority, instead of government of national unity.

Fact: GNU is a position mongering phenomena that is already a wasteful and fruitless expenditure," said the EFF member of parliament.

Critics contend that this government of national unity is not what it seems and that ANC and Democratic Alliance are pushing their agendas instead of putting South Africa first.

"And the government of national unity is not actually a GNU. Its a coalition of convenience to prevent true prower sharing. True power sharing when there is no majority should include all willing parties. What the ANC and DA are doing is bending the concept of unity to benefit themselves," said a social critic.

"The justification for a larger cabinet is because ANC wanted to keep its cadres employed. This has nothing to do with government of national unity."
