"Tufungulieni Please" Kenyan MP Pleads with Gen Zs Following What her Kids Asked

opera.com 3 days ago

The recent unprecedented events that saw young Kenyans dubbed Gen Zs rise in unity to demand the rejection of Finance Bill 2024 have continued to send shivers down the spines of Kenyan Leaders.

A Kenyan MP has confessed that she still remains in hiding, days after protesters stormed Parliament.

Betty Maina (Muranga Women Rep), has hinted that she was forced to seek refuge at her residence and has been on lockdown since.

However the Parliamentarian has now pleaded with young Kenyans to allow her to come out and continue with her job. This is after her kids got curious and began asking whether she was no longer going to work.

"Even Kids are asking 'Mum siku hizi huendi job' Tufungulieni lockdown prisssss" Betty Maina said.

The message follows recent protests and rage expressed by Kenyans on social media on leaders who voted in favour of the Finance Bill 2024. With cases where Legislators who supported the Finance Bill were targetted with their property or houses being burnt or looted, a number of MPs were left living in fear and worry.
