Detectives in Nyeri are hunting for a 33-year-old man who allegedly murdered his estranged wife iajidey his house in Mumrock Estate, Karatina town.
According to reports, Peter Kamau stabbed Nancy Wanjugu Kinyua multiple times before slitting her throat.
The 36-year-old shoe dealer had gone to pick up her child from daycare when the man confronted her and lured her into his rented house where he carried out the gruesome attack.
Nancy's family reported her missing to the authorities at Karatina Police Station prompting a search which led to the discovery of her lifeless body inside Kamau's rented house. Residents flocked to the crime scene covered in blood as police officers arrived to remove the body. The scene was processed and the body transferred to Karatina Level IV Hospital mortuary for preservation pending autopsy.
Preliminary findings indicate that the duo had been married for two years but separated a few months ago. Police have launched investigations to establish the motive of the killing.
Couples are advised to resolve their differences amicably instead of taking each other's lives.
