Safaricom Reportedly Refused To Fund Gen Zs Uhuru Park Event, Who Finally Funded It Revealed

Activist Boniface Mwangi has now revealed that the organisers of the Gen Zs Uhuru Park memorial event, had approached Safaricon as they requested for funds to put up the event.

Mwangi who was speaking to a journalist on the sidelines of the event in Uhuru park said that the telecommunications company declined to their request, citing reasons that he chose to withhold, leaving them with little options.

He went ahead to reveal that that the Gen Zs online and other friends who are happy with the movement offered to contribute funds that were later used to put up the even that is believed to have taken millions.

"This event has been funded by Kenyans who decided to contribute. We got support from friends after Safaricom refused to support the event." Boniface Mwangi said

Videos have emerged online revealing that the event was attended by thousands of Kenyans, who turned up to pay their last respect to fellow youths who were killed by police officers during the previous anti-government protests.

Boniface Mwangi revealed that more than 30 celebrated musicians in the country were lined up to attend and perform during the memorial concert.
