CNN journalist Larry Madowo, who traces his roots to Kenya, has shared a harrowing video revealing a fatal police shooting during a protest outside the Kenyan parliament buildings. The incident, which Madowo posted about on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), involved the shooting of several protesters by Kenyan security forces.

Madowo in his post wrote, "EXCLUSIVE: CNN watched as Kenyan security forces shot dead at least 3 protesters outside the Kenyan parliament on Tuesday. I saw Ericsson Kyalo Mutisya, 25 dancing in white overalls. Shots rang out shortly after that and I saw his body. He wasn't the only one."

The footage and Madowo’s account have sparked widespread outrage and condemnation. Ericsson Kyalo Mutisya, a 25-year-old protester, was among those fatally shot. His presence at the protest was marked by his energetic dancing in white overalls, a stark contrast to the tragic outcome that followed.

The protest was part of a larger demonstration against government policies and alleged corruption, issues that have been at the forefront of Kenyan politics. The heavy-handed response by the security forces has drawn criticism from both local and international human rights organizations, calling for accountability and justice for the victims.

This incident highlights ongoing tensions in Kenya, where citizens frequently protest against socio-political injustices. The video captured by Madowo serves as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by protesters and the need for reform in the handling of demonstrations by law enforcement agencies.
