He is one of the most seasoned cops in the country having served as regional commander in three different regions.

In April 2023, Noah Mwivanda was posted to Nyanza as the new regional police commander in place of Karanja Muiruri, who was fired and recalled to police headquarters for redeployment.

But just one week after taking over as the new regional police chief, Mwivanda was also recalled to police headquarters for redeployment. He was succeeded by former Central police boss, Manasse Musyoka.

Whereas Muiruri was appointed as the new deputy director of logistics at police headquarters, the fate of Mwivanda remains unknown.

The powerful cop was accused of the manner in which he handled the anti-government protests in the region at the time the Azimio la Umoja coalition leader was leading demonstrations against the President William Ruto regime.

Before his posting to Nyanza as police chief, Mwivanda served in Eastern region in the same capacity.

He had previously served as the Coast regional police commander. He had also served as Nyanza police chief before having been replaced by Lydia Ligami.

Mwivanda had also served as Migori and Mombasa counties police commander during his successful yet controversial career as law enforcer.

But after that unceremonious exit from Nyanza, what really became of Mwivanda? Did he retire from the service? Or was he redeployed?
