The Weekend Star reports that a senior government official in the Kenya Kwanza was briefly detained during his travels in a foreign country.
The brief detention is reported to have come about after the was found with several wads of cash stashed in his bag.
However, his senior role in government seemed to have played a part in his immediate release. It is reported that a powerful phone call was made from Nairobi to the foreign country pleading for his release.
Those in the know about the senior government official have hinted that the man is known for his stories about reportedly being brought up in a humble upbringing.
Details indicate that the man was quietly released. He then cut short his trio and returned back to the country for avoid further embarrassment.
Reliable sources have revealed that the man has recently been the subject of endless talk gossip for living a lavish lifestyle and sudden riches which can't be explained.
Some keen observers are wondering why the authorities are not taking actions against him.
"The official has been the subject of endless grapevine chatter about his alleged sky-high lifestyle characterised by overnight riches. Now that a foreign authority has the guts to sop him and ask questions, why won’t authorities at home take note?" the Star reports.
