A manhunt has been launched for a suspect who shot and injured a police Constable
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal has launched a manhunt for an unknown number of suspects who overpowered two police officers from Umbumbulu police station, took their firearms and a state vehicle, and fled the scene. The suspects later abandoned the state vehicle after it overturned during a high-speed chase and jumped out, escaping with the stolen firearms.
In a separate incident, police in KwaZulu-Natal have also launched a manhunt for four suspects who allegedly shot and killed three women and injured two more in Inanda in the early hours of Tuesday, 16 May 2024. The suspects are still at large, and the police are urging anyone with information that can lead to their arrest to come forward.
Additionally, a manhunt has been launched for a suspect who shot and injured a police Constable at Newtown A in Inanda just after midnight on 12 May 2024. The suspect is still at large, and the police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating him.
These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by the SAPS in maintaining law and order and the need for continued public support and cooperation in combating crime in KwaZulu-Natal.
