Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has finally spoken on Inspector General Japheth Koome's resignation following the pressure from Azimio la Umoja Political Bandwagon, call for his arrest with immediate effect.
Speaking at Burial Ceremony in Kakamega county, Raila Odinga applauded President William Ruto's decision of accepting IG Koome's resignation hence telling him that he should be arrested, claiming that he is answerable to the killings that have been recently evidenced in the country.
Azimio la Umoja coalition leader, therefore said that Koome's resignation is not enough hence told president William Ruto that Nairobi Regional commander, Adamson Bungei should also resign with immediate effect having failed in his duties to give a total security in Nairobi.
However these sentiments come after President William Ruto instructed homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to promptly launch an investigation into the deaths of more than nine Kenyans whose bodies were found at an abandoned quarry in Mukuru, Nairobi.
Raila further dismissed allegations of a 'handshake' with President Ruto, emphasizing that the call for dialogue was not aimed at benefiting him personally but rather was intended for the benefit of the people of Kenya.https://x.com/i/status/1812157483835646386
