With the January transfer window drawing closer and their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo already having his contract terminated at the Theatre of Dreams, Premier League giants Manchester United are now understood to be keeping close tabs on PSV Eindhoven star forward Cody Gakpo amid his stellar world cup displays with Netherlands.

According to the latest reports from the Sun Reporter, Frankie Christou, the Red Devils are ready to go back to the negotiation table with PSV after failing to swoop for the 23 year old during the summer transfer window with a deal likely to go through immediately after the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Gakpo, 23 has caught the attention of several clubs including Real Madrid, Arsenal as well as the Red Devils with his current form in Qatar where he happens to be the joint leading goalscorer alongside Kyllian Mbappe and Marcus Rashford.

In the meantime, speaking shortly after qualifying for the quarter finals with the Louis Van Gaal's side, the promising striker admitted his desire to ply his trade at the top, hinting on a possible transfer in January and hence, it remains to be seen where he might end up at.
