With the command of the Kenya Defence Forces expected to exchange hands in the next one year, a Kenya Navy General is set to succeed Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla.
General Ogolla is from the Kenya Air Force. He succeeded General ( Rtd) Robert Kariuki Kibochi, who was from the Kenya Navy.
As it stands, it will take at least another five years for the leadership of KDF to go back to Kenya Air Force.
By the time the leadership of KDF goes back to Kenya Air Force, many current high ranking officers from the unit, especially in the rank of Brigadier will be at the peak of their military careers.
The current Kenya Air Force Commander Major General John Omenda would have retired. This means his juniors will be in a pole position to take over KDF command from Kenya Army.
Laikipia Air Base Commandant Brigadier Mohamud Farah, is one of those who would have hit the highest ranking in the military and could take over the command of KDF.
Going forward, Brigadier is one man to watch in future military promotions and appointments.
