SHIF dictates that those in formal employment contribute 2.75 percent of their salaries in monthly deductions, while those in the informal sector contribute Ksh. 500 monthly.

Kenyans are set to pay a high amount of money for the expected new health scheme, which was introduced by President Ruto since he was elected and started this month on July 1st.

Many Kenyans are afraid to join the scheme because, at the end of the month, each person is expected to lose 2.75 percent of their salary to the new scheme, which the government is saying is better and is currently too hard to carry out in the new scheme.

Kenyans have been complaining a lot on many social media accounts and are saying the amount imposed is too high to be paid. Those who are not working are expected to pay 500 bob each month towards the schem. Losing 2.75 percentage of someone salary is large amount. For example someone earnings 10,000 per month is expected to pay 275 bob.
