He had loyally served former President Uhuru Kenyatta for almost five years since his appointment as presidential Aide-de-camp in 2018.

Brigadier Timothy Stelu Lokolool, the son of former Provincial Commissioner, had succeeded Colonel Victor Mburu as Uhuru's ADC. In the process, he became the first Kenya Navy soldier to serve in the position.

On September 13, 2022, he crossed over to stand behind President William Ruto. He would go on to serve the current Head of State for slightly over one month before being replaced by Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga from Kenya Army.

But in July 2022, just months to Uhuru's exit from power, he promoted his ADC to the rank of Brigadier. This made him the senior most ADC in the history of the country.

After exiting as Ruto's ADC, Brigadier Stelu Lokolool was posted to the Defence Headquarters for redeployment. However, since then, it remains unknown what really became of the man who clicked with Uhuru, the naval soldier who redefined the role of an ADC.

In March 2024, as President Ruto made changes in top KDF command, Brigadier Lekolool was among the senior naval officers who were overlooked by in new military command structure.

The Kenya Navy got new commander and his deputy. But should Brigadier Lekolool be among those who should have been promoted to Major General and even be appointed as the new naval chief or worse, the deputy? Somehow, the President gave his former aide a raw deal.
