Katsina Gov’s security detail allegedly kills lawmaker’s in-law
A stray bullet allegedly from an officer among Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s security detail has killed Alhaji Sani Murtala, a brother-in-law to Katsina State House of Assembly member representing Sabuwa Local Government Area.
According to the account related by an X user, Bakatsine, the unamed trigger-happy officer is a member of the State Community Watch Corps.
The narrator mentioned that the sad event happened at Machika town, during the governor’s visit to condole with the lawmaker over the death of his parent.
In the course of the condolence visit, Bakatsine said the bereaved lawmaker’s brother-in-law was killed by a stray bullet that was fired by one of the officers guarding Gov. Radda.
The casualties, according to the report went beyond the deceased as some others suffered varying degrees of injuries.
“Unfortunately, one of the stray bullets struck several individuals, including Alhaji Sani Murtala, who had been quietly seated nearby.
“Alhaji Sani Murtala succumbed to his injuries, while others wounded in the incident are currently receiving medical care. The identity of the officer responsible for the fatal shot has not yet been determined,” the guy wrote.
