St Teresa’s School celebrates successful annual Big Walk
St Teresa’s Junior Primary School’s annual Big Walk took place on June 28, creating a vibrant and spirited event that brought together learners, staff, and parents. The walk was special this year, starting with an inspiring talk from 2020 Olympian Micaela Bouter.
Bouter shared her inspiring journey from her first diving lesson to competing at the Olympics, encouraging young Rosies to dream big and view failure as a stepping stone to success. Her message of finding strength through faith resonated deeply with the audience.
Following Bouter’s talk, the school community embarked on the Big Walk. This year’s theme, Olympics, inspired learners to don creative Olympic-themed outfits. The school grounds were transformed into a colourful display of imaginative hats and costumes, showcasing the learners’ effort and enthusiasm.
The walk was lively, with many learners exceeding the required 10 laps simply for the love of the activity. The event was not just about physical exercise but an opportunity for learners to bond with their peers and revel in the school spirit. The walk concluded with dancing and treats, adding to the day’s joyous atmosphere.
St Teresa’s School is proud of the Rosies for their outstanding participation and creativity. Their enthusiasm made this year’s Big Walk an unforgettable event, reflecting the strong sense of community within the school.
The event also served a generous purpose, with generous sponsorships and donations raising funds for a new covered walkway from the Rosebuds Pre-Primary School classrooms to the new Atelier.
In conclusion, the annual Big Walk at St Teresa’s Junior Primary School was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of community, creativity, and perseverance. The Rosies’ spirit and the collective effort of everyone involved made it a day to remember.
