Whatever You Ask You Shall Receive

Who says your prayer cannot be answered? Who says you will not receive that which you have been asking for? And who says God will not grant your heart desire any moment from now? Worry not! Your period of waiting is over! God is about to answer your prayers!

First John 5:14-21 declares, “Beloved: This is the confidence which we have in the Son of God, that if we ask anything according to His will he hears us. If we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.”

Child of God, as long as you pray in accordance to God’s will, God will surely answer your prayer.

In Luke 22:42, our Lord Jesus Christ prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” God answered his prayer in accordance to His will. He did not take away the cup of suffering. He allowed Him to drink the cup of suffering but after three days; God raised him and gave him the name that is above every other names (Philippians 2:9- 10). God’s will for him was the best! Indeed, God answers all prayers not necessarily the way we want it but in accordance to His will.

No wonder our Lord Jesus Christ declares in Matthew 7:7-11 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

In John 15:7, our Lord Jesus Christ assures his followers: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciple.”

As you continue to abide in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, there is nothing you ask that you will not receive.

In John 16:23-24, Jesus insisted, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

This is exactly what open cheque is all about! Child of God, the ball is in your court. Don’t ever get tired of praying. As you pray God will surely answer your prayer and you will experience fullness of joy!

You may be wondering why so many people’s prayers are not answered. James 4:3 has an answer to this perennial question. “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” Most people pray wrongly and that is why their prayers are not answered.

Finally, as St. Paul rightly declares in his letter to the Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus our Lord” – Amen!
