Tinubu, Shettima, Kaduna gov, others mourn wife of ex-NAHCON boss
President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and former Vice President Namadi Sambo are among the dignitaries who condoled with former Chairman and CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar, over the passing of his wife Hajiya Binta Sambo Abdullahi.
Hajiya Binta died on Monday, July 22, in Kaduna after a brief illness at the age of 56.
President Tinubu was represented by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, while VP Shettima was represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties (Vice President’s Office), Dr. Modibbo Aliyu Umar.
They delivered the presidential condolences during a visit to the residence of the former NAHCON chief in Kaduna on Monday.
Governor Sani, Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Arabi; former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmad Makarfi; former Kaduna State Military Administrator, retired Brigadier General Jafaru Isa; and the and the wife of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo, were the same of the early callers to the deceased’s residence.
Former Vice President Sambo offered his condolences on Wednesday when he visited the Kaduna residence of the bereaved.
Other dignitaries that visited the former NAHCON chief include the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Liman, House of Representatives member Abubakar Nalaraba, Senators Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Shehu Sani and Abubakar Umar Gada; Executive Secretary of Kaduna Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Salihu S. Abubakar, and former Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Halliru Maraya.
The Commandant, Headquarters Nigerian Army Armoured Corps (NAAC) Bauchi, Major General Muhammed Ahmad; the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zone, Dr Ben Ubi;
Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 14, AIG Ahmad Abdurrahman; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, also visited the ex-NAHCON boss for condolences.
The National Chairman of the Izalatul Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Bala Lau, led the Secretary-General of the organisation Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, and other top JIBWIS chieftains in their condolence.
Other people who visited are former Chief Physician to President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Suhail Rafindadi; former INEC Resident Commissioner in Zamfara State, Dr Asma’u Sani Maikudi; and Managing Director of First Planet, Malam Umar Kaila, among others.
There were representations from Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, NAHCON management, the management of Kaduna, Adamawa, Plateau, and Kebbi state pilgrimage agencies, district heads and traditional title holders from Zazzau emirate, and Islamic scholars, among others.
They all prayed to God to grant the soul of Hajiya Binta Jannatul Firdous and give her husband and family the fortitude to bear the loss.
