BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - We have Friday to dry out with sunshine and chilly temperatures. However, more rain is on the way for this weekend. With saturated ground all across the Mountain State, flooding will be possible. Unfortunately, many locations can pick up another 1/2″ to 1.00″ of rain from Saturday morning through Sunday morning. Even worse, there could be some ice and snow to start this event on Saturday morning. It will warm up enough for all locations to see a change to rain and the period of mixed precipitation should be short. Another chance to dry out on Monday with more clouds than sunshine and a chilly afternoon. Highs in the lower 40s with 30s in the mountains. This dry day will again be followed by more rain on Tuesday. For now, it looks like rain in the lowlands and snow in the mountains. There could be accumulations in the higher elevations. The train of storm systems affecting the eastern part of the country continues later in the week. Another round of rain is expected Thursday after one dry day Wednesday. Even after that, a new storm system rolls through the eastern United States and this could bring more rain, possibly heavy. An active February weather pattern looks to be in full force. We may even have some thunderstorms at some point late next week.
