As per a post on his verified Facebook page, Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has questioned those who believe that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly can be removed without the approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He expressed skepticism over such claims, emphasizing that Tinubu's influence over Lagos politics remains strong.

"Do you really think the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly can be removed without the approval of President Bola Tinubu? That’s not realistic," Olayinka stated, as reported on his verified Facebook account. His remarks suggest that major political decisions in Lagos are unlikely to occur without Tinubu's consent.

Lagos State has long been considered Tinubu’s political stronghold, with key government appointments and legislative activities linked to his influence. Given this, Olayinka’s statement aligns with the belief that Tinubu plays a decisive role in the state's political affairs.

His comments have sparked debate, with some agreeing that Tinubu’s control over Lagos politics remains firm, while others argue that the legislative body should operate independently. The discussion around the possible removal of the Lagos Speaker continues, but Olayinka’s remarks highlight the deep political connections within the state and Tinubu's enduring role in shaping its leadership.
