Brazilian striker informs other clubs he only wants to join Arsenal
Arsenal has been handed a transfer boost as reports suggest that Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha is prioritizing a move to the Gunners.
According to football London, Manager Mikel Arteta has emphasized the need for reinforcements in January following injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, which have left the team short on attacking options. Arteta urged the board to act, stating, “We lack goals, people, and options in the frontline. The team is coping, but we need to do what’s right for the club.”
Several forwards have been linked to Arsenal, including Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, and Evan Ferguson. Notably, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Brighton is open to loaning Ferguson out before the window closes. The 20-year-old Irish forward could add valuable depth to Arsenal's attack.
Meanwhile, Wolves’ Matheus Cunha has emerged as a key target. The 24-year-old has rejected new contract offers from Wolves, frustrated by the club’s refusal to include a release clause. Valued at over £80 million, Cunha is reportedly keen to join Arsenal, rejecting other Premier League clubs in favor of competing for major honors at the Emirates under Arteta.
Cunha has been a standout performer for Wolves this season, contributing 10 goals and four assists in the Premier League. His scoring ability, link-up play, pressing, and dribbling skills have made him a sought-after player.
Additionally, Arsenal is exploring a move for Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan. The 17-year-old Rosenborg talent is reportedly in London to finalize a transfer, despite also meeting with Manchester City last week.
