Gen Tsiga's security men ran for their lives, when bandits entered his house he came out—Jamil Mabai
Jamil Mabai, a conflict and crisis analyst, recently shared how retired Major General Maharazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the NYSC, surrendered himself to bandits to protect other members of his household in Tsiga village, Katsina State.
During an interview with News Central TV, Jamil explained that his relative, a resident in Tsiga Village, told him how the attack unfolded. He said he was told that over 100 armed bandits stormed General Tsiga's residence and that the security personnel stationed at the General's gate fled to nearby houses. He said when General Tsiga realized that the bandits had gained access to his home, he came out voluntarily to protect other people in the house.
Jamil said the bandits captured Tsiga and took him away on foot. He said on their way out, they also abducted some other members of the community.
In Jamil's words: "He said they were over 100 bandits that stormed his house. When they came they went directly to his residence and circled the residence and they said they were not there to shoot anybody, they just wanted to abduct the General and leave. His security personnel at the gate had to run for their lives to neighboring houses. The General realized that the bandits had entered his residence and he knows that he has people inside his house, so he came out and they just took him away by foot. On their way they carried some other community members".
