The tragic murder of Salome Adaidu in the Papalada community has left the nation in shock, with grief-stricken families and a community demanding justice. Timileyin Ajayi, a gospel artist, has been accused of the horrific crime and is currently in custody at the Lafia Custodian Center, awaiting trial.

The incident has drawn significant attention, and Timi’s family has expressed deep sorrow over the situation. During a press visit by Channels Television, Timi’s mother spoke about the tragedy, revealing her understanding of the pain felt by the victim’s family. “Assuming it was one of my daughters that they did that to, how would I feel?” she asked, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. While clearly heartbroken, she said she was leaving the matter in the hands of the government. “Anything the government wants to do, everything is in government’s hands,” she added.

Timi’s father also spoke to the press, pleading for forgiveness for his son. He urged the government to resolve the matter and convince the community to pardon Timi, while his mother’s statements suggested a more cautious stance, reflecting the seriousness of the accusations.

The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public that investigations into the case are ongoing, and the state government has promised that justice will be served for Salome Adaidu. Timi currently faces a charge of culpable homicide, a crime punishable by death under Nigerian law.

This case has sparked widespread discussions about accountability, justice, and the emotional toll on both the victim’s and the accused’s families. While the nation awaits the outcome of the judicial process, the Papalada community continues to mourn the loss of a young life in such a devastating manner.
