Evangelist Mike Bamiloye Gives Bible Reference To Show That We Are Not Saved Eternally
In a recent post on Facebook, renowned Nigerian evangelist and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Mike Bamiloye, has stirred discussions within the Christian community with his recent teaching on the nature of salvation. Speaking on the topic, he emphasized that salvation is not a one-time event but a continuous journey that demands obedience to God until the very end.
Bamiloye based his message on Hebrews 5:9 which states, “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” He explained that while Christ's work on the cross provides the opportunity for salvation, the believer has a responsibility to maintain that salvation through steadfast obedience.
He stressed that the doctrine of "once saved, always saved" is a misconception that can lead to spiritual complacency. Bamiloye warned that without perseverance in faith and obedience, believers risk losing the salvation they initially received.
Bamiloye’s teaching encourages Christians to remain vigilant and steadfast in their walk with God. He urged believers to rely on the Holy Spirit for strength and guidance, noting that salvation is a partnership between God’s grace and human responsibility.
According to him, "Your soul is not forever saved, rather, your soul is currently saved. If you want your soul to be forever saved, then you must obey Him till the final end. His work is to save you (which He did when you repented of your sins and thus gave Him a chance), and your own work is to keep that salvation till the end through obedience. Hebrews 5:9 “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. You are not forever saved. Eternal salvation is available for only those who obey Him till the end."
